Coffered Ceiling Dining Room
Our Dining Room is like dream come true! It was so much work but boy was it worth it! I am so proud of my husband as this was not a small undertaking. This is one of the more complex DIY's we have taken on. To see more about the planning & design process – see my dining room progress post.

We started the project on Mother's Day and it was completely finished and styled by Father's Day so about a month. It was mostly a weekend project. I have some really cool timelapse videos of this project on my Instagram IGTV channel!
The wainscoting moulding wall was quick & easy. A beginner DIY'er could do definitely do this! This feature wall is gorgeous and makes a big statement! It really accents our white kitchen cabinets, our white trim and our white stair railings. My husband and I are working on a how to tutorial for you – coming soon so be sure to subscribe so you'll be the first to know once it's complete!
The coffered ceiling is definitely a more advanced DIY requiring more skill & tools but I love what it adds to the tray ceiling! It compliments the rest of the white woodworking in this room too.
I love this gorgeous view when I am in my kitchen cooking 3X per day!
Now you may be saying to yourself, nice table setting but you have no chairs! This is true so I will explain. I love a good tablescape. It dresses up the table! I love this table runner but I like to mix it up and take that off from time to time as well. The key to a good tablescape is definitely the perfect centerpiece. I have a little bit of layering for this centerpiece. I love this natural slate serving tray which I always use for charcuterie spreads. Then I have a beautiful wood bowl with the most gorgeous faux artichokes you have ever seen. I do love artichokes and they are a trendy home decor item right now especially for the kitchen!

For the place setting, I have neutral placemats to go with any holiday or theme. I got these new napkins and napkin rings which I'm loving! And then using my Grandmother's silverware and glasses. I just love having her items in my home!

So about the chairs, I am going to purchase two fancier chairs to flank the window and use as end chairs when this room is in use. I am between the two chairs below! I'll update this post once I choose them & put them together. I think my husband will like the first chair better than the second but I think the second one because it is different! As I said in my progress post, I actually don't have any other chairs in my dining room. When we use the dining room, I bring my kitchen chairs in which are in the next room over. I use my dining room a lot for party serving so I like to have it open so that people can easily walk around the table. It also keeps the kitchen itself from being all cluttered! When the dining room is not in use, it looks bigger without all the chairs. I don't know, it's what I like! And its functional.
What really makes the feature wall POP is the gorgeous 60 x 40 artwork and the buffet sideboard & decor! I found this artwork for a very reasonable price and I love it even better in person than I did online! It was the perfect size and went well with the area rug which I've had for awhile. I've also had the buffet sideboard to match my dining room table for over a year. I was really impressed by the quality of this piece, the pretty color and it is a great size! It has 4 drawers and 4 drawers and holds anything I will ever need in a dining room! It holds everything from serving dishes, my Grandmother's glasses and dishes, holiday dishes, you name it! I also picked out a few decor items to compliment the space. I wanted to keep the gold/cream/tan neutral tones in the room and carry that into the buffet decor. I also wanted to add a little bit of blue to go with the artwork and if you look close there is a little pop of pink in the cherry blossoms.
